OUR SAFETY MOAT

The boring details that keep your dog safe.

Approval. Vaccinations. Qualifications. Insurance. Incident protocol. None of these are fun, none of them are optional, and all of them sit between your dog and an incident.

01

Every dog approved before they book.

We can't promise a safe pack walk if we don't know the pack. So every dog goes through an approval review before their first booking. No approval, no slot. No exceptions.

  • Owner submits dog profile + photo + temperament notes
  • Vaccination certificate review (see below)
  • Phone call with the owner if anything is borderline
  • Approval logged against the dog, not the owner — so other dogs in the household still apply individually
02

Vaccinations, verified.

We require current DHPPi and Kennel Cough at minimum. Certificates are uploaded once, expiry is tracked in your dashboard, and we re-verify the night before every adventure.

  • DHPPi — required, in date
  • Kennel Cough (Bordetella) — required, in date
  • Rabies — only required if your dog has travelled or is travelling
  • We do not accept self-declared vaccinations. Certificate or it didn't happen.

Qualified staff, on site, every adventure.

Bark Bus is run by Level 3 qualified canine professionals. Every staff member holds an in-date canine first aid certificate. We don't run an adventure without one of us on the ground.

  • OFQual Level 3 in Canine Behaviour & Training
  • Canine First Aid — annual renewal
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Continuous CPD: incidents, breed-specific behaviour, pack management

04

Fully insured. Care, custody and control.

Full Care, Custody & Control insurance covering the bus, the destinations, and every dog under our care from the moment we collect to the moment we return.

  • Public liability cover £5,000,000
  • Care, Custody & Control cover for every dog on every adventure
  • Vehicle insurance with passenger cover for animals in transit
  • Goods-in-transit cover with animal-carriage extension

Incident protocol — practised, not invented.

Every staff member has a written incident protocol they've rehearsed. If something happens, we don't think — we follow the script. Then we call you.

  • On-site first aid kit + nearest emergency vet pre-arranged
  • Owner notification within 5 minutes of any incident requiring action
  • Written incident log within 24 hours, available to you on request
  • Six-year incident retention — see our privacy policy
