From Wednesday 9 September — Blackburn & Darwen is our fifth area. We start with Wednesday-afternoon adventures, every week, and open more days as routes fill, exactly how the first four areas grew. Booking closes at 8pm the night before each run.

Which parts of Blackburn do you collect from?

All of BB1 and BB2, door to door — and BB3 for Darwen. You never drive anywhere or meet the bus. If your postcode starts BB1, BB2 or BB3 you're covered; the checker on the booking page confirms your exact street.

How much does a Blackburn dog adventure cost?

£25 per dog for the whole afternoon — collection from your door, the adventure, photos and drop-off back home. Weekly memberships bring the per-ride price down once you're a regular.

Where do the adventures actually go?

The calendar publishes each Wednesday's destination ahead of time — Witton, Billinge Wood, Pleasington, Sunnyhurst Wood and Darwen Tower, Bold Venture Park, Roddlesworth, Darwen Moor and Entwistle reservoir are all on the Blackburn & Darwen rotation, so you can pick the afternoons your dog will love most.

Blackburn has 480 acres of country park on the west side of town and most dogs only ever see the bit by the car park. From Wednesday 9 September the Bark Bus collects door-to-door across BB1 and BB2 — the centre, Little Harwood, Roe Lee, Pleckgate and Wilpshire on the north side; Witton, Revidge, Beardwood, Mill Hill, Ewood and out to Mellor on the west — and takes the afternoon somewhere worth the ride: the far reaches of Witton and the climb through Billinge Wood to the Yellow Hills, the old-hall woods at Pleasington, or over the moor edge to Sunnyhurst and Roddlesworth.

An adventure is a whole afternoon, not a loop of Corporation Park: a small group capped at twelve, six dogs to each qualified walker, matched by temperament before anyone's first trip. No crates on the bus — every dog rides harnessed in their own pup pod with a window seat — and you follow the route on a live map from your door and back to it.

Blackburn & Darwen opens with Wednesday-afternoon runs, every week — collected after 12:30, home by half three — with more days opened as routes fill; the earlier you book, the faster your side of town gets more of them. Photos from the afternoon land in your dashboard the same evening, with a short honest note on how your dog got on.
